Psychotherapist / workshop presenter
As a retired professional dancer and now a psychotherapist, I am uniquely placed to help performers with their mental health issues. 1-2-1 sessions are now via the internet. I have a Masters degree in Psychotherapy validated by Middlesex University.
I have been a guest lecturer at the UCL on their Performing Arts Medicine course 2019 to 2021. My lectures are on mental health issues relating to dance.
I also present mental health self-care workshops to dancers both in dance/ballet companies and pre-professional schools/colleges.
In addition, I am the mental health advisor on theatre and film dance projects relating to mental health.
I've a number of research ideas regarding mental health related issues for dancers and I'm open to approaches from university regarding this type of research projects.
I have been interviewed for POINTE and Dance Magazines, The Guardian newspaper, as well as for BBC radio and many dance related podcasts.
My book on mental health self-care for dancers will be out in 2024, and my 'Help4Dancers' app is available on the Apple and Google app stores.
