Margaret is an arts writer and editor based in New York, NY.

Currently the features editor at Dance Magazine, she was previously editor in chief and producer of The Dance Edit newsletter and podcast, and worked on Dance Spirit magazine for nearly 12 years, six as editor in chief. Her writing on dance has been published in The New York Times, Dance Magazine, Pointe, Playbill, The Huffington Post, and The Brooklyn Rail.

She has a bachelor’s degree in history from Princeton University and a master’s degree in journalism from New York University’s Cultural Reporting and Criticism program. She studied dance for 18 years and continue to experiment with choreography. (These days, most of that experimenting happens in her living room with her two daughters.)
